Mahalo Made
Mahalo means grateful—that’s the motto for Phoenix-based shave ice truck Mahalo Made. In 2017, Lady La had a vision of spreading gratitude throughout the Valley of the Sun with uniquely handcrafted shave ice.
“Mahalo is an expression of gratitude,” says La. “I have strong family ties to Hawaii and wanted to honor how grateful I was to serve the community with the name Mahalo Made.”

Money Peach
Living paycheck to paycheck, Chris “Peach” Petrie and his wife Andrea found themselves deep in debt and feeling overwhelmed in 2011.
They knew they never wanted to feel that way again, and they immediately made a plan. By cutting extraneous expenses, building a budget and even working side jobs to pay the bills, they paid off $52,000 in just seven months.

State Forty Eight
Mike Spangenberg is a born-and-raised Arizonan. Growing up, he watched friends come and go, bringing loyalty to other states, sports teams and communities with them. “It drove me crazy that there was a lack of pride for our beautiful state,” says Spangenberg.
“There were no apparel options available during my childhood to represent Arizona in a positive and fashionable way.” Spangenberg and his two business partners dreamt up the solution to that one day with three simple words—State Forty Eight.
