Arizona State Credit Union Receives Communitas Award for AZ Sundogs Hockey Partnership
Credit Union's support of local businesses receives national recognition
PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona State Credit Union was honored to receive a Communitas Award for its local partnership with the Arizona Sundogs, the Central League affiliate for the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes.
The Credit Union’s sponsorship provided financial assistance to the Prescott Valley based organization and offered fans a memorable hockey experience by hosting crowd cheering games that allowed contestants the opportunity to get their mortgage paid for a month or win up to $1,000 dollars.
“The impact Arizona State Credit Union has had on our business and fans is immeasurable,” said Chris Presson, general manager of the Arizona Sundogs. “They provide an active community partnership that goes far beyond a sign in the arena. Arizona State Credit Union represents true community pride and a willingness to expand its reach within the community.”
The Communitas Awards are presented by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) in order to recognize companies, organizations or individuals that donate time, effort or money to improve the communities in which they live or work.
“As a state financial cooperative, Arizona State Credit Union looks to support locally owned, community-focused organizations, like the Sundogs, as they create local jobs and help the economy grow,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “It is a humbling experience to receive this recognition as we strive to provide assistance to our communities through our financial services, as well as through every interaction we have with our members and the Arizona communities we serve.”
The Credit Union received a second Communitas award for its scholarship and grant program, which annually awards current and former students of an Arizona college, university or vocational school over $33,000 in grants and scholarships. This program was designed to assist with the costs of tuition, books and student loans, and offers assistance to many Arizonans who may not otherwise be eligible for a grant or scholarship.
