Arizona State Credit Union's Shred-a-Thon Moves to Payson
Shred-A-Thon helps Payson community protect against identity theft
PHOENIX, Ariz. –Arizona State Credit Union’s Shred-A-Thon is offering Payson community members an opportunity to shred their sensitive documents in the fight against identity theft.
Members of this northern Arizona community are encouraged to bring their documents to the Credit Union’s Payson branch at 104 E. Highway 260 on Tuesday, August 7, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The event is free of charge and helps raise awareness about the importance of shredding personal documents to protect against identity theft.
“As a local financial cooperative, we are more than happy to provide sustainable programs, such as the Shred-A-Thon, for the communities we continue to serve,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “With these events being an important part of our cooperative business model, we encourage community members to participate and rally around this cause.”
Last month’s shred event was held at the Credit Union’s Highway 89 branch in Flagstaff, where more than 5,178 pounds of documents were shredded. This equates to saving more than 25 trees, a sizeable contribution from the Flagstaff community.
Important documents to bring to the Shred-A-Thon include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Community members will also be placed into a drawing to win an Apple iPad when they apply for a Visa® Platinum Credit Card.
Shred-A-Thons will be hosted at northern Arizona Credit Union branches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are free and open to all members of the community, with a limit of five boxes per person. Below is a complete list of remaining branches and dates:
