Arizona State Credit Union Gives Residents Second Chance to Shred Documents
Shred-A-Thon stays in Flagstaff to help community battle identity theft
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Arizona State Credit Union's Shred-A-Thon will make its second stop in Flagstaff and offer community members another opportunity to shred their sensitive documents in the fight against identity theft.
Members of this northern Arizona community are encouraged to bring their documents to the Credit Union's Flagstaff Highway 89 branch on Tuesday, July 10, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The event is free of charge and helps raise awareness about the importance of shredding personal documents to protect against identity theft.
"Green initiatives, like the Shred-A-Thon, are part of our sustainable model and help meet the need for community outreach programs in the local Arizona communities the Credit Union serves," said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. "Our Flagstaff Beaver Street branch shredded 2,186 pounds of documents at the first Flagstaff event in June, which saved 10 trees. This is a sizeable contribution and I'm confident that Flagstaff residents will continue to add to this total at the second event."
Important documents to bring to the Shred-A-Thon include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Community members will also be placed into a drawing to win an Apple iPad when they apply for a Visa® Platinum Credit Card.
Shred-A-Thons will be hosted at northern Arizona Credit Union branches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are free and open to all members of the community, with a limit of five boxes per person. Below is a complete list of remaining branches and dates:
