Arizona State Credit Union’s Prescott Shred-A-Thon Produces Record High Turnout
Prescott community members shred and recycle 7,300 pounds of documents
PHOENIX, Ariz. –Arizona State Credit Union’s Prescott Shred-A-Thon had the largest turnout in the 2011 series of Shred-A-Thon events despite the threat of unwelcoming weather.
Steady traffic throughout the event resulted in Prescott community members shredding 7,300 pounds of documents, which equated to saving 36 trees. More than 30 people lined up to shred their personal documents before the start of the event, and the Shred It truck was filled to its capacity by early afternoon, just missing the thunderstorm.
“I am proud of the Prescott residents and all Northern Arizona community members for rallying around such an important cause,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “Their support shows the value of the Shred-A-Thon and the need to raise awareness about the importance of shredding personal documents to protect against identity theft.”
Prescott Valley will be the Shred-A-Thon’s final stop in a series of events during its 2011 tour. This free event, which will be held on Tuesday, October 11, will be hosted from 11 AM to 2 PM and is open to all members of the community.
Documents to bring include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Arizona State Credit Union will offer $100 to anyone who opens a checking account with direct deposit during the event.
