Arizona State Credit Union Recognized for Outstanding Membership Focus With Louise Herring Award
Award for Philosophy in Action Given to Credit Union for Assisting Arizona Students with Loans and Grants
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Arizona State Credit Union announced they are proud to be among those selected to receive the prestigious Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action for its extraordinary commitment to its members. This industry award is presented annually by the Arizona State Credit Union League.
Arizona State Credit Union received the Louise Herring award for establishing the Community Leaders Scholarship and Loan Reduction Grant to help students attending various Arizona universities, colleges and vocational schools pay for tuition, books and other academic expenses. The Loan Reduction Grant is a unique aspect of the program because it helps graduates pay for accrued student loans, which can be a significant financial burden upon leaving school.
The Scholarship and Grant program awarded $34,000 to 18 deserving students and alumni based upon academic achievements and a continuing commitment to their communities. Such programs are imperative to students as they face ever-growing education expenses that may be more difficult to pay due to decreased funding.
"We are honored to have the opportunity to award well deserving Arizonians who are working hard to complete their higher education or those who are working to pay off their debt," said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. "We commend each student for their hard work and are happy to be able to give back to our community."
Arizona State Credit Union has been offering scholarships to Arizona students for almost 60 years and is committed to the people of Arizona and its communities.
