Arizona State Credit Union Receives Copper Anvil Award of Merit
Credit Union recognized for excellence in public relations
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Arizona State Credit Union was recognized by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) during its Copper Anvil Awards Thursday, September 16, 2010, for its excellence in public relations. This is the Credit Union's first ever Award of Merit in the Copper Anvil competition, a program created to encourage quality and distinction in public relations. The Copper Anvil Award is recognized as one of the highest honors in public relations.
"PRSA Copper Anvil awards are presented to the 'best of the best' in public relations programming in the Phoenix area. We have extremely talented communications professionals here in the Valley and PRSA is pleased to honor their efforts," said Abbie S. Fink, vice president/general manager of HMA Public Relations and president of PRSA Phoenix.
The Credit Union received this award for its HelpingAZ.com campaign, which was entered in the Corporate Social Responsibility: Government, Associations and Non-Profits category. Arizona State Credit Union created the HelpingAZ.com website to bring together Arizona State Employees and University Employees who had been affected by the economy, layoffs, and furloughs and offer them a place where they could voice their thoughts, opinions and helpful tips.
"Our goal for this campaign was to bring members of the community together and let them know they are not facing these economic hardships alone," said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. "The Merit Award is an honor and recognizes our associates' dedication to their work at the Credit Union."
The Copper Anvil Awards identify public relations campaigns that incorporate effective research, planning, execution and evaluation. The 2010 finalists reflect the highest standards of performance in public relations in for-profit and not-for-profit settings. Eligible programs were those that began, continued through, or were completed between January 1 and December 31, 2009. The PRSA chapter of Central California chapter judged the 2010 entries.
