Arizona State Credit Union Hosts Final Prescott Area Shred-a-Thon Event

Last opportunity for Prescott Valley residents to shred sensitive materials

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona State Credit Union begins its final leg of the 2014 Shred-a-Thon tour by offering Prescott Valley community members an opportunity to shred personal documents free of charge.

Northern community members are encouraged to bring their sensitive documents to the Credit Union’s Prescott Valley branch on Tuesday, September 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The event is free to the public, and is held to awareness about the importance of shredding sensitive documents to protect against identity theft.

“We have seen great turnout from community members who understand the importance of protecting personal information,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “While this is the last shred event in the Prescott Valley area this year, we are proud to offer this service in the years to come to our community members.”

During the Credit Union’s most recent shred event in Flagstaff, residents brought over 3,970 pounds of sensitive documents to be shredded and recycled.

Documents to bring to the Shred-a-Thons include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents.

Shred-a-Thons will be hosted at northern Arizona State Credit Union branches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The events are open to all members of the community, with a limit of five boxes per person. The last stop will be at the Credit Union’s Cottonwood branch on Tuesday, October 7, 2014.
